FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE
From the cradle to the grave
From the mountain to the sea
From below and up above
He watches over you and me
Long ago and far away
Before the footsteps in the sand
From his heavenly throne on high
The universe He held in hand
And through the eyes of every child
Oh, such wonders do they see
And to the questions that they ask
So few answers will there be
And from that child there steps the man
His own epitaph to write
Freely choosing his own way
Jesus keeps him in His sight
And as the years they drain away
In retrospect it seems sublime
That though this world was made by God
It's man who damned us with the time
And as the book of life is read
From fly-leaf page by page
Some read slow and others fast
And still he's with us every stage
Someone else will close the book
But will they learn from what we gave
As they walk watched by the Lord
From the cradle to the grave
